Jefferson Area Music Department Announces Fall and Holiday Events
The Jefferson Area Music Department has several upcoming events planned for the fall and holiday season, including the annual marching band Glow Show, the JAMBA Craft Show, the high school fall musical, and the department’s winter concerts.
The Jefferson Marching Band Glow Show will take place Tuesday, October 20, at 7 p.m. at Falcon Pride Stadium. The stadium lights will be turned off as students perform illuminated by LED lights and glow sticks. Audience members are encouraged to participate by bringing their own glow accessories. Admission is free, with donations accepted at the gate. The band will conclude its football season with an away game at Edgewood on Friday, October 23, before transitioning to concert band.
Students from both the Jefferson band and choir programs will represent the district in Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Honors Ensembles this fall. Choir students will participate in the Honors Choir on October 24, while band students will participate in Honors Band on November 21. Both events will take place at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown, Ohio, bringing together selected student musicians from across the region for collaborative performances.
The Jefferson Area High School Theater Department will present its fall musical, “The Addams Family,” November 12-14. Thursday and Friday performances begin at 7 p.m., with Saturday performances at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door; pricing information will be announced.
The Jefferson Area Music Boosters Association (JAMBA) will host its annual Craft Show on Saturday, November 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show features a wide variety of craft vendors offering handmade items, gifts, and seasonal decorations. Admission is free, and the community is invited to attend.
The marching band will also participate in the Jefferson Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 5.
The Jefferson choir program will present its Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 10. The Junior High Choir will perform at 6 p.m., followed by the High School Choir at 7:30 p.m. Community members are invited to attend and support the students as they perform their holiday selections.
The department’s holiday season will continue with the annual Rock the Halls Concert on Thursday, December 17. The Junior High performance begins at 6 p.m., followed by the High School concert at 7:30 p.m. Featuring music inspired by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and other popular rock Christmas songs, the concerts combine live musical performances with a full lighting production in the school auditorium.
